The Attendant® Ready✔Check Kit is a portable solution for taking resident vitals and responding to resident incidents in your facility. This guide will show you how to use your Ready✔Check Kit with the DS smart® app to get readings from devices on the go.
Ready✔Check Kit Contents
Before using your kit, verify that all the items below are present and undamaged:
All the clinical diagnostic devices included in this kit are DS smart ready and can send resident vitals to your compatible EMR (additional DS smart tablet and subscription required).
Pairing Devices
If you have a DS smart iPad that you have purchased for use with your kit, you'll want to pair your discrete devices with the app to streamline using it for the first time.
1. Locate the three discrete devices included in your kit and turn them on:
Note: Devices come in their original packaging with batteries included. We recommend storing the individual manuals in the Ready✔Check bag. |
2. Power on your DS smart iPad. |
3. Select the icon to launch the DS smart app. |
4. Select Get Started. |
5. Select your EMR. |
6. Select Connect under the ReadyCheck option.
If you don't want to connect your discrete devices at this time, you can select Skip Equipment Configuration. You will then be prompted to connect your equipment later in the workflow, after selecting a resident but before getting readings. |
7. Locate each of the discrete devices included in your kit and connect them to the tablet one at a time. They are now paired with the app, so you won't have to do this again. |
8. Log in using your existing EMR credentials. Use your facility location prefix (e.g., “sa.susanjones,” not “susanjones”). |
Taking Readings
| 1. Confirm your facility at the top of the screen. Select a resident by scrolling or searching by last name. | |
2. Take resident vitals. Then, pull these from connected devices into the app by selecting Get Readings. To refresh an individual reading, select Get Reading under the vital sign you want to retake. You can also enter a reading manually by selecting Edit under the vital sign. |
3. Once the readings are captured, select Send to Chart at the bottom of the screen. If prompted, confirm and select methods from the dropdowns (note this screen will not appear for Yardi or RTasks EMRs). |
4. Log out by selecting the logout button in the upper right of the screen. |
Using DS smart without Wi-Fi
DS smart will continue to work even when the application is momentarily not connected to Wi-Fi. When Wi-Fi connection is lost, this message will display:
- If Wi-Fi connection is lost, continue using DS smart for vital collection. DS smart will continue to capture resident vitals and cache that data until Wi-Fi connectivity is restored.
- In order to ensure packages are sent from DS smart to your EMR, caregivers must remain logged in to DS smart until Wi-Fi has been restored and vitals have been sent to the EMR.
- Any vital packages taken while not connected to Wi-Fi will be cached as long as the caregiver remains logged in.
- Once you are in a location with Wi-Fi, your cached vital packages will be sent to the EMR. Then, the caregiver can log out.
Privacy and Logout Options
There are several options within the DS smart application to help you ensure resident privacy. Once vital signs have been taken, the caregiver can do any of the following:
- Minimize the screen.
- Wait 30 seconds for the screen to dim automatically.
- Log out manually. Any data saved to be sent later due to loss of Wi-Fi will be lost
upon logout. - EMR system will log users out automatically after two hours of inactivity. Any data
saved to be sent later due to loss of Wi-Fi will be lost upon logout.
